Blaauwklippen Zinfandel, Stellenbosch 2019. Blaauwklippen is the oldest wine farm in the Stellenbosch wine region of South africa, dating back from 1682. The vineyards are situated in the Golden Triangle of Stellenbosch and they are one of the very few producers of Zinfandel in the whole country. Narina Cloete has been the winemaker at Blaauwklippen Agricultural Estate since June 2016. She studied Oenology at Stellenbosch University and completed harvests at Glen Carlou Vineyards, Dornier Wines, AA Badenhorst Family Wines and Stellenzicht Wine Estate. She serves on various wine judging panels and strives to create wines that express the terroir of the vines to give the consumer the chance to experience South Africa through Blaauwklippen’s wines. Expect flavours of sour cherry, cranberry and licorice from their Zinfandel, supported by delicate floral notes. A savoury textured wine, it is a wonderful pairing for pork, duck, veal and light curries..
