Château de Laborde Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2019. In 1998, Hervé Kerlann and his wife Mandy fell in love with Château de Laborde. With a winemaking history dating back to 1704, it’s steeped in history and located alongside some of the great Burgundy terroirs. For nearly twenty years, Hervé has worked tirelessly to reconnect Château de Laborde to its wine-growing past. The vines are located in Gevrey-Chambertin, where grapes are hand picked to ensure only the best make the cut. Once fermented, the wine spends 18 months maturing in French oak barrels, softening tannins and adding complex flavours. Expect notes of violets, cranberry and black fruits with hints of liquorice beginning to develop. Its silky character makes it a fantastic match for beef bourguignon..
