Cheval des Andes is the result of the union between Château Cheval Blanc, Premier Grand Cru Classé “A” of Saint Emilion, Bordeaux and Terrazas de los Andes, a pioneer of cool-climate, high-altitude winemaking in Argentina. Distinguished by its freshness, elegance and exceptional ageing potential, the wine of Cheval des Andes is the Grand Cru of the Andes. The altitude, topography and soils composed from the erosion of the Andes mountains lend the wine its hallmark complexity. At 1, 070 metres above sea level, this is the highest vineyard on the right bank of the Mendoza river in the province of Luján de Cuyo. Old vine Malbec planted on its own roots in 1929 flourishes here and produces complex, expressive and soft wines.
